I was quite intrigued by this product when I saw it at Farmers- tubes surrounding each eyelash, which create a lengthening and thickening effect. I've tried the XXXL fiber mascara by Maybelline and wasn't too impressed by it, but the more I read about this L'Oreal product, the more I wanted to try it and see for myself.

So I bought myself one today, for $35.00.

The first step is to apply the fibers, which is the white looking stuff. As soon as I applied it, I immediately saw these things lengthen my eyelashes to astronomical proportions. Very thick stuff, you want to apply this sparingly. Your lashes look like they've got snow all over them. Colour is necessary. I was a little afraid to add the black colour, fearing I was going to poke a black hole in the ceiling with my monster lashes.

Adding the black, it was very...wet. I had to add about 3 coats to cover up the white stuff, which gave me quite a thick look for my lashes. I accidentally got a tiny bit on the inner upper lid, and it stung Quickly saved my eye from running black by sopping up the tears with a cotton bud right in the tear duct.

So now I'm sitting here, with deliciously long lashes, but blinking furiously as it feels very thick and like I've got a hair stuck on it somewhere. Also have many of my lashes clumping together, I'm too scared to comb them in case the tubes slide off.

So all in all so far here are the pro's and cons:

Pro's:
-Does what it says, lengthens up to 80%
-Lashings of colour

Con's:
-Thick and wet
-Smells like paint
-Stings like the dickens if applied to eyeball/inner lids
-Fiddly and time consuming to apply
-Only comes in black
